If you are planning to avoid the section of track between Whakapapa Village and Mangatepopo our Shuttle provides a service to or from Mangatepopo Carpark back to Whakapapa Village.

Schedule times maybe adjusted depending on availability.

Due to low passenger demand and increased fuel costs this Shuttle operates as a rideshare with minimum cost to operate set to 3 passengers and then per person.  

Bad weather option avoiding Red Crater through Ketetahi or Waihohunu maybe serviced for an additional cost or transfered to another day.

Note this is one way not return

A late service charge or wait time may be applied at $7 per 15 minutes waiting in the event you miss the arranged pick up time.

There are two drop off or pick up locations Waitonga Falls is the lower track heading east via Rangipo and the upper track to Whakapapa Village.   Please be aware when booking that due to the extra time and distance an additional surcharge will be required to the upper Mangaturuturu track to or from Whakapapa Village.

About our Service

*We are unable to carry infants under 3 or any child unable to be seated with provided seat restraint.  

*Minimum number of 4 passengers is required ( to run at service cost, please call in advance to check. ***In the event of additional passengers on the same time we will refund you the shared cost of the shuttle to a minimum of single person fare.

*Cancellation fees apply to all cancelled bookings when pre paid. 

*Free transfer of booking to another day should weather affect your reservation. 

On demand Transfer service to Tukino access road intersection of Round the mountain Track.

If you wish to be picked up from another location other than Whakapapa Village please contact us for the appropriate pricing of the journey.

Our 4wds enable access to the Around the Mountain Track intersection at the gate to the Tukino Ski Area which is approximatly 4 kms from the 2wd car park.   
If we are requested to use our larger 2wd Toyota Coaster or subject to any other road conditions we reserve the right to drop/pick up passengers from the side of SH1 rather than risk being bogged in on the access road to the 2wd car park area.

The distance from State Highway 1 to the Track intersection is 9kms.

Off season Winter pick up service from the end of the track back to the start of the track.

Winter months it is strongly recommended you go with a Guide before contacting us.

During Winter months through to June to October the ALPINE crossing is an advanced track for ALPINE experianced people only.  If you can not use Ice axe, Crampons or understand what Alpine truly means please visit the neighbouring Mt Ruapehu Ski Areas or ask the local search and rescue bases for a 2 metre black zip bag.    
We provide a transport service only off season for the prepared and are will not provide a service to the track during this time to those we no experiance of Mountain Alpine conditions.

If you do have the experiance and equipment to undertake the crossing we can provide a service back to the start of the track.    As we know you may not be able to complete the whole track a refund will be permitted with just a charge for the admin fees involved.  Certain terms and conditions still apply as a courtesy to us for being available on the day.
